Joe Root will stay forever in England’s era !

What a comfortable win it turned out to be for team England despite of 2 players were unfit yesterday in the middle of the match it’s Jason Roy & Skipper Eoin Morgan.

Finally the Sun has arrived in England to play the cricket match. The has won by skipper Eoin Morgan and he made the West Indies to bat first.

The 18th match of the ICC Men’s WC was started between England and West Indies at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton by 10:30 am the local time on June 14th, 2019.

When Hope dismissed at 11 in his 5 overs he faced including only one boundary then came the iconic and hopeful batsmen in the middle. They are none other than Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer who built a strong partnership to bounce back the game. The 4th wicket partnership made 89 runs which was the highest in the 1st innings when West Indies were batting. Nicholas Pooran who made his maiden World Cup plus ODI fifty took some balls to reach. As he made finally for 63 off 78 balls that includes 3 fours and 1 six. After the partnership was broken by Shimron Hetmyer who carried till 39 off 48 with 4 boundaries failed to face the quality spell by the part time spinner Joe Root. The next Batsmen the Skipper Jason Holder who went for 9, the Lime light who yet did not start his power mode made just 21 off 16 with only 1 four and 2 sixes and finally Carlos Brathwaite who just ,contributed 14 runs. All the 3 players should give a hope by the support of the top orders but failed to contribute runs on the West Indies scoreboard. The England bowling department thoroughly supported the team as the Mark Wood and Jofra Archer in end picket 3 each, the Part time bowler Joe Root took 2 crucial wickets of Hetmyer and skipper Holder while Chris Woakes and Liam Plunkett took 1 each. It was Adil Rashid who completed his 10 but no wickets were taken along with Ben Stokes also didn’t pick wickets I his 4 overs. The West Indies were 144 for 4 at one stage but they could manage only 212 for the loss of the 10 wickets in 44.4 overs.

When the English Batsman were asked to bat 2nd it Jason Roy who has to began with Johnny Bairstow. Since Jason Roy left out the field in the 1st innings itself Joe Root comes into bat with Bairstow for the 1st time in World Cup. The new pair partnered a well made 95 in just 14.4 overs. When Bairstow who was dismissed for 45 off steady 46 balls which includes 7 classic boundaries. Then came the new no.3 batsman it was Chris Woakes who was partnered with Joe Root the match winner. These the 2nd wicket partnership went on for 104 runs off 103 balls which was the match winning convincing partnership. In the end the match Woakes departed for 49 off 54 balls with 4 boundaries under his belt who was dismissed by Shannon Gabriel who took the 2 wickets for West Indies. The lime light Joe Root made an extraordinary knock of marking his 3rd World Cup Century which is the most by any England batsmen who passed Kevin Pietersen’s record of 2 centuries. Root by this Ton also registered his 16th ODI century. Expect Shannon Gabriel no other West Indies batsman contributed this time for the team as all the deliveries bowled by the pacemen were short delivery. The best economical bowler in West Indies yesterday was the “Universe Boss “ Christopher Henry Gayle who was 4.4 in his 5 overs. Thus the England bounced with clinical performance with the bat and bowl as they reached the target in just 33.1 overs.



Man of the Match (MOM): It’s none other than Joe Root who bagged the Man of the Match award for his 100 not out and 2 crucial wickets.

Records: Joe Root became the 1st English Batsman to reach 3 World Cup Tons who passed Kevin Pietersen.

Nicholas Pooran on his 3rd innings reached his 1st World Cup fifty and also ODI half-century.

Mark Wood took his 50th wicket on yesterday’s match in the last wicket.
