The 15th Match of the ICC Men’s WC 2019 was started between South Africa and West Indies at The Ageas Bowl, Southampton by 10:30 am the local time on June 10th Monday, 2019.
It is the West Indian Captain Jason Holder, won the toss and elected to bowl first for 3rd time in the tournament. Jason Holder decided to field because of the overseas condition and he expected a rain after the 1st innings which stopped the play in the 8th over of the 1st innings. When the South African were asked to bat 1st it was the opening pair Quinton de Kock and , again fail to built a strong partnership. As Hashim was dismissed by Sheldon Cottrell for 6 runs off 7 balls that includes a four and Amla was caught by Chris Gayle who was in the slips in the very 3 over. Then came Aiden Markram who also disappointed by not partnering with the South African Wicket-keeper batsman de Kock. Markram gave the ball in the hands of the West Indies Wicket-Keeper batsman Shami Hope bowled a brilliant delivery by Sheldon Cottrell again. Markram was gone for just off 10 deliveries with a boundary.
Then arrived the skipper Faf du Plessis. Faf entered the cricket ground with a drizzle. Which finally brought the game to a conclusion as both the batsmen were ready to setup a target in the middle. Quinton de Kock who playing on 17 off 22 with a boundary whereas Faf was just settling in the middle he faced only 7 balls.
As the rain started drizzling then it went heavily which made the game to stop. If South Africa would have lost this match avian this is the 1st time after 2008 they are loosing continuous 4 ODI matches.
This is the 2st time in the history of World Cups South Africa has lost 3 consecutive matches.
Record made by South African former skipper Ab de Villiers who continuously made 3 World Cup centuries against West Indies of the past 3 World Cup tournaments. But this he was not there.
Thus the South Africans scored 29 for the loss of 2 wickets in 7.3 overs but the rain stopped match.
